Modernist Design movements occurred sequentially over the 20th Century rejecting the aesthetic, political and lifestyle characteristics that preceded it. This included -Arts & Crafts -1875-1915, Art Nouveau -1880-1910, Wiener Werkstatte -1903-1933 , De Stijl – 1917-1928, Bauhaus School – 1919-1933 and The International Style The 1950’s and 60’s.
Unique Characteristics
An impressive skirting board that offers real gravitas to both modern and period homes. It is often used in period homes where a modern extension is required, This was the case in a house near Rutland water where it was used in a modern cubed extension very effectively on a Georgian house.
